About Us

Dr. Laurie Nelson is the owner of the Marietta Hearing Center.  She received her Bachelor’s degree in Speech Pathology and her Master’s degree in Audiology from the University of Texas at Dallas and her Doctor of Audiology degree from Salus University at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and Audiology in December, 2009.

Dr. Nelson has been a practicing audiologist since 1986 and has been in the Marietta area since 1999.  Having worked in a number of medical settings, she approaches patient care with experience, knowledge and compassion.  Dr. Nelson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Audiology and a member of the Georgia Academy of Audiology.

She lives with her husband and two dogs in Kennesaw and has two children in college.  Dr. Nelson enjoys reading, exercise and church activities.  

   
Dr. Kathy Ford Dr. Kathy Ford is new to Marietta Hearing Center, but not to the Marietta area.  For over 30 years she has practiced in a number of settings including hearing aid offices, school settings, physician practices, and government.  Her experience base includes pediatric and geriatric patients, and a compassion for the hearing impaired and their needs. She received a Bachelor's Degree in Speech Pathology and Audiology from the University of Georgia and her Doctor of Audiology at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry and Audiology.

She has two grandchildren that she visits often in Tennessee, and lives with her retired husband in the city limits of Marietta.


Mary Reitz is our patient care coordinator. She is here to answer your questions and create a pleasant patient atmosphere during your visit.  Mary has many years of experience scheduling and assisting patients with their
individual needs.

   

Mission Statement

The Marietta Hearing Center was established to provide the highest quality hearing healthcare services for adults and children in Marietta and the surrounding communities.  Services include comprehensive audiological evaluations and hearing aid sales and service.  At Marietta Hearing Center, we value those we serve as patients and as people, and we are ever aware that they are the reason that we exist.  We see ourselves as a part of the larger healthcare community, and endeavor to have good relationships within the profession, with physicians and as responsible and contributing members of the community.
